The movie is a story of love and betrayal. Kalare loves Chathuruthi and is in love with her. But Chathuruthi has to marry the person who wins the King's competition in order to survive, and so she marries Pichamma. Then she becomes the queen of the kingdom of Pichamma. Kalare's father is a thief and abandons Kalare. He runs away from her. In order to save her mother from death, Kalare decides to become a thief too. She gets involved in a drama and wins the competition organised by all thieves. But she does not have any intention to steal anything from anyone, but one day she steals from Pichamma a golden ring which belongs to her husband and that one day, while returning home, Chathuruthi comes into her life again. Kalare is impressed by the princely character of Chathuruthi. She writes a love letter to prince Chathuruthi and gives it to her. Chathuruthi, deeply in love with Kalare, wants to take revenge on Pichamma. So she sends one of her maids for this purpose. After reading the letter, Kalare gets shocked and remembers that she had stolen the golden ring from Pichamma's husband while returning home. She comes back with the ring in order to give it back to Pichamma's husband, but Chathuruthi does not believe her and refuses to give back the ring back. Kalare promises her to get back the ring by any means. And she gets the money for this purpose from Pichamma's maid, who was sent to get it back, but she does not get the ring. At the same time Chathuruthi sends him a golden necklace by mistake along with golden ring. Kalare did not accept it because of knowing that she was sent by Pichamma. Then Kalare tells that that is not possible for him to accept it. She tries to send it back but Chathuruthi refuses to take it. Then Pichamma finds out that Kalare does not have the golden ring and Pichamma orders her maid to throw the necklace into the river, but Pichamma's maid throws it into a well. The golden necklace gets lost there. Chathuruthi comes to know that Kalare is not ready for marriage, because she wants to help her mother somehow. She becomes sad all over again, because she wants to convince Kalare for marriage. The movie is a story of love and betrayal.
